Evaluation question 7

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learned in the progression from it to the full product?

One way in which I've learned useful progression skills was through the foundation of my image, this was done by cropping out the image of the person on my front cover, I've looked at magazines such Kerrang and Mojo and what I've noticed is that the position of images are based on their target audience appeals. This strongly made me focus on the positioning of the person on my front cover (Adam) before I could start putting in the features of my magazine and create the final product. I've also learned that through my preliminary is through the appeal and the ‘style’ of my magazine. Through careful thought I realized that magazine around a specific genre dictates what the magazine’s target audience is asking for. So I created a theme based around my magazine, a tour around Europe. This gave my magazine the basis of what a niche target audience wants, the theme of my magazine is ‘rap’ which is similar towards the artistic views of Eminem and his music.

Another thing I've learned through progression of my preliminary task is through the cross-over of other platforms. For example, near the bottom I've added in a link which indicates a twitter link between the magazine, this was done to add sophistication in the magazine and to make it look like the magazine’s image is expanded through technological convergence.
